Arthur Cazaux (74th in the world) will face former world No.3 Dominic Thiem in the first qualifying match for the Monaco Masters 1000, after the draw on Friday April 5.

After more than two weeks without a tournament, it’s time to resume for the Montpellier player, to definitively put an end to his impressive malaise in the middle of a match in Miami.< /p>

Registered for the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000, Arthur Cazaux (74th in the world) will have to go through qualifying in order to reach the final draw of the first big clay court tournament of the year.

Thiem has just lost to Gasquet

For this first qualifying match, Cazaux will face heavyweights, in the person of Dominic Thiem, former world No.3 and currently 91st in the ATP.

The Austrian, still looking for sensations after wrist problems, remains with a defeat in the second round of the Estoril tournament, against another Héraultais, Richard Gasquet (6- 4, 7-6 [6]).

In case of victory against the winner of the US Open in 2020 – his last title elsewhere – Cazaux will face the winner of the Italian duel between Fabio Fognini (100th) and Lorenzo Sonego (61st).
