What you have just done is not a trivial act, declared Sébastien David, mayor and president of the council hospital surveillance.It is a symbolic act of construction of a new building at the public hospital as part of a partnership agreement between the hospital and your health service. radiology. It is recognition of the ambition that you have for Sud-Aveyron, for Saint-Affrique and for the hospital."

For two weeks, the foundations of a ground floor building of 200 m² on the ground are being carried out at the entrance to the hospital, on the left side. The structural work is carried out by the Martinazzo BTP company. "The current radiology reception will be moved to this building and put at the front, explains Doctor Clément Tournier on the sidelines of the ceremony . There will be two secretariats, one for cross-sectional imaging, that is to say the MRI and the scanner, and a second for everything that is ultrasound, radio and mammography. The new building will communicate with the old one. »

The prefabricated modular building will arrive at the end of February and the medical imaging machines will be delivered at the beginning of April for an operational start in May. Doctors Tournier investment 5 M€ in the operation, 3 M€ for machines and 2 M€ for the work. "We are watching closely, declared Didier Tournier. 200 to 250 passages per day are expected."

During the speeches, Doctor Ibrahim Taleb Bendiab, president of the medical commission establishing the hospital, warmly thanked the two doctors for this investment: "This is material that will be made available to the population. In emergencies, with your equipment, we can detect things."

Clément Tournier continues: "This building, for which we have laid the first stone, will allow us to install the new scanner and an MRI for which we have had authorization . This will make it possible to broadly treat all patients in South Aveyron and beyond. Currently, there are 150 crossings per day. People come from everywhere. This creates a form of enthusiasm that is found within the team. This allows us to move forward in a positive way and unify all of this with the treating doctors, community medicine and the hospital. And this for everything related to emergencies and management of patients who come and in whom we discover pathologies. All this allows us to unify the medical sphere and organize medical projects in South Aveyron."
