Pour le compte de la deuxième journée du championnat de France par équipe mixte et après sa défaite initiale, Montpellier s’est imposé face à Asnières (6-3)

Six days after a defeat that hurt their coach Arthur Combeau's head, the Montpellier judokas perfectly set the record straight by securing a prestigious victory against Asnières on Tuesday evening.

The Pierre-de-Coubertin Sports Palace vibrated and, this time, the Montpellier coach ended the evening with a smile, even falling into the arms of his president Christel Lavaud, once the victory was secured.

The evening started perfectly for the locals. Axel Mohedano put in a genuine performance by emerging victorious from the fight against the Moroccan from Asnières, Abderrahmane Boushita. The young 19-year-old judoka pushed his opponent to disqualification and opened the Montpellier counter.

Camille Meyer offers victory to the MJO

The match then got wild, as did the crowd at the Palais des sports Pierre-de-Coubertin in the Hauts-de-Massane district, in front of two consecutive ippons, one on each side. The Hauts-de-Seine team first equalized when Meriem Medjouri beat Emma Melis. In the process, Montpellier's Hugo David brilliantly gave his team the advantage again.

Dominated during her fight last week, Eva Grassin took revenge on herself at the end of a tough fight against Jaelyn Chipan and allowed the MJO to make the break just before the break (3-1).

After the locker room, Anthony Tama's victory over Nidhal Belgacem gave some air to the scoreboard (4-1). All that was missing was a fight won for Montpellier to win the match against the Parisians. This was achieved in the next one dominated by Camille Meyer over Juliette Diolot.

With this success, the MJO will travel to Bègles and Nantes in November to seek qualification for the quarter-finals of the competition.
