Given the forecasts from Météo France: sustained rain and flooding of rivers, the prefect, in consultation with the departmental director of National Education services, has decided to suspend school transport for the day of Thursday, October 17, in a large northern half of the department (see the attached map below).
A decision taken in a context where the Gard department is still placed on orange alert for “Rain-flooding”, “Storms” and goes to orange alert « Floods ».
The situation will continue tonight and tomorrow, with high intensity from Thursday 12 h.
The map below shows the cancellation sectors, which are in color. It is the zone that counts, meaning that all school transport that passes through a zone concerned is canceled (even if it goes to or comes from an authorized zone).
