The analysis showed that the outbreak occurred in one of the closest to Earth zvezdoobrazovaniya regions of the Orion nebula. The event was observed a few hours. The outbreak was caused by the destruction of intense magnetic fields of young growing star, located at a distance of 1500 light years from us.
Its capacity is 10 billion times more powerful than the most colossal solar flares. And just half an hour, it decreased by 50 percent.
“Observing outbreaks around the young stars is a new area that gives us the key idea of the physical properties of these systems, says lead author Dr. Steve mayrs. – Opening of this magnitude could only happen in Hawaii. Using the JCMT, we study the processes of birth of stars nearby, which helps us better understand the history of the formation of our own Solar system.”
