In this tenth month of the year, there are a few changes to note. Starting with the rhythm of our days, since it is during October that the change to winter time occurs.
Time change
Note it in your diaries, on Sunday, October 27, we switch to winter time. As every year, the transition takes place during the night. Thus, at 3 o'clock it will be 2 o'clock. You will therefore have to set your devices back one hour. As a consolation, it is an hour of sleep gained.
Increase in APL
“Personalized housing assistance (APL) will be increased to be consistent with the increase in rents. On average, beneficiaries will see their aid increase by 3.26% quot;, indicates the government information site.
This revaluation occurs, as every year on October 1st. Since 2014 on this date, the annual revaluation of housing expenditure parameters, i.e. rent ceilings, fixed charge amounts or rent and charge equivalences, has occurred locatives.

Pension revaluation
"Approximately850,000 retirees will benefit from an increase in their pension, with an average revaluation of €50.94 per month. This increase concerns small pensions of retirees who have had a full career", the government indicates.

Spoofing telephone numbers
Another important change starting October 1 is that it will no longer be possible for criminals to spoof an existing telephone number, as some scammers do, for example, by calling you with your bank number.
A system call origin authentication is being rolled out by telephone operators starting this Tuesday. "This device aims to prevent the usurpation of fixed telephone numbers, also called spoofing, whether they are banks, companies or public administrations".
October pink
The month of October also rhymes with the fight against breast cancer. As every year, many events linked to Pink October, which aims to raise awareness among women about screening.
“In France, it is estimated that there will be nearly 62,000 new cases of breast cancer in women this year”, recalls the League against cancer. Furthermore, this cancer, the most common among women in France, is still the main cause of death among them.
