La clinique, plus que centenaire, va quitter son emplacement historique en centre ville. Le millier de salariés sera transféré dans un bâtiment neuf non loin du stade de la Mosson.
The Clémentville clinic, located in the heart of the city, is going to move. The rumor had been circulating in the corridors for months. The management of Oc Santé officially announced it internally on Tuesday, October 2 in front of employees. It is to La Mosson, a district undergoing major changes with the emblematic demolition of the Tour d'Assas, that the health establishment will be transferred. Created in 1912, the century-old clinic has pushed the walls as far as possible to support the establishment's growth. But its location, between Arceaux and Cévennes, has become a bottleneck. Difficult to park and pass each other, complain patients.
No extension possible
Employees are waiting. "We wonder what will happen to us", wonders this caregiver. Another recognizes that a departure was inevitable. Another, a surgeon and oncologist, cannot accept being deprived of a PET scan because no enlargement is possible. The ban on pulling up a pine tree in the landscaped area is said to be one of the causes… However, the latest robots, which take up a lot of space, have become essential to provide care that meets patients' expectations and to maintain the health establishment's certifications. The Clémentville clinic has had the highest level of certification since 2019, issued by the Haute Autorité de Santé with an A rating. A recognition valid for six years.
Transfer to the outskirts of the city
Owner of three clinics in Montpellier – Saint-Roch, le Millénaire and Clémentville – the Oc Santé group had already been confronted with this problem with one of its establishments. The Saint-Roch clinic, which had become too cramped, had left its historic location on Faubourg Saint-Jaumes to set up on avenue du Colonel André-Pavelet. A transfer to the outskirts, in a brand new building, more compliant with the increasingly demanding standards of healthcare establishments.
Despite yesterday's announcement to employees, the Oc Santé group has not officially confirmed the transfer. A question of timing… before announcing the precise schedule of this move.
