The flash was recorded by a special instrument on the spacecraft created by students of the Harvard spectrometer x-ray imaging Regolith (REXIS)
Mission using NASA’s Osiris-Rex is now engaged in a study of asteroid Bennu. But last fall, the spacecraft accidentally discovered an unexpected cosmic phenomenon – the powerful flash of the black hole, located at a distance of 30 thousand light-years.
The flash was recorded by a special instrument on the spacecraft – x-ray spectrometer imaging Regolith (REXIS). It was developed by students at mit and Harvard. The device is designed for measuring x-ray radiation emitted by the asteroid. However, REXIS accidentally caught a strong flash of x-rays from a previously unknown distant black hole, which is now called MAXI J0637-430.
Astronomers have discovered the unexplained discovery in the Universe
New black hole was confirmed by researchers on the International space station, which surveyed the desired area with the help of their devices.
See also the plot of “black holes” in the biography of Elon musk:
“The REXIS instrument for the first time in the history of science have discovered the cosmic activity in millions of kilometres from Earth during the rotation around the asteroid Bennu. It was first detected burst during an interplanetary mission,” said NASA.
REXIS studied the space around Benn, 11 November 2019, when he saw the flash of a black hole. But only now, after several months of study, NASA has confirmed the source of the outbreak in the form of a black hole. Also comic, the Agency created a. GIF animation showing the visualization of the outbreaks of the black hole.
Black holes can generate x-ray flashes like this where they bring in stuff from the star-companion. This compares to NASA’s space activities with a “raucous chorus, singing in the language of x-rays”. This means that the team that created REXIS, unexpectedly received a very sensitive device, allowing you to fix the MAXI J0637-430, located at a distance of 30 thousand light-years.
In the Solar system may be hiding a black hole
Meanwhile, the space Agency still plans to send Osiris-Rex on the surface of Bennu to collect samples. If this risky operation is successful, then the spacecraft will bring samples of an asteroid to Earth in 2023.
We will remind that earlier it had found a potentially habitable exoplanet. Also a recent study of the space demanded attention from the public – scientists are asking Internet users to look for black holes.
