The United States, Israel and Hamas have reportedly agreed to release dozens of hostages in exchange for a five-day truce, reports the Washington Post.

The release of the hostages could take place in the coming days and lead to the first break in the conflict that has been raging since October 7, adds the American media, citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to agreement, which would be 6 pages long, all parties would agree to pause hostilities for at least five days while 50 hostages would be released at the start of this truce and others would be released in small groups every 24 hours .

This pause would also allow a sustained arrival of humanitarian aid from Egypt via the Rafah border crossing.
