It is by singing and in Cévennes that the Maison Rouge collection is revealed

Une visite “cant & conté”, en langue cévenole, avec Delphine Aguilera. Midi Libre – STEPHANE BARBIER

In Saint-Jean-du-Gard, Sunday April 14, from April 14, Delphine Aguilera will lead an original visit to the collection of the Cévennes Valleys Museum through song and storytelling.

" Inanimate objects, do you have a soul that attaches itself to our soul and the strength to love? "  questioned, in the 19th century, Alphonse de Lamartine.
Sunday April 14, from 2 p.m., in several rooms of the Maison Rouge Cévennes collections museum, Delphine Aguilera will sing a first element of response. Accompanied by mandola player Pascal Chevalier, the Alésienne will bring to life the collection of objects amassed, with patience and passion by Daniel Travier, through a repertoire of songs echoing them. Texts from another heritage, this one intangible, bequeathed by his grandfather Georges Gros. Associated with the texts of the ethnomusicologist Pierre Laurens or the writer Marie Rouanet, the repertoire sung in Cévennes, lasting around an hour and a half, is constructed in resonance with the various themes of the rooms. Religion, plants, lullabies, professions, seasons, spinners…

All these songs are of popular origin and all tell a story

Each of the themes will be illustrated in this collection of songs, sometimes accompanied or a cappella, in order to give life to inanimate objects and therefore resurrect them who were their owners…
" All these songs are of popular origin and all tell a story, explains singer Delphine Aguilera. These texts are always more in the narration than in the concept with always a touch of humor, of fantasy, even if it's sad, because we don't feel sorry for ourselves . These songs retrace history in an almost timeless form that allows us to project ourselves. "
So that the collections are completely resurrected, Laurine Lavaure-Lanco, in charge of the public at Maison Rouge, will lead the visit and complete the discussion.

Sunday April 14, 2 p.m., visit « cant & conté » by Delphine Aguilera and Pascal Chevalier. Price: 2 euros; in addition to the entrance fee. Contact: 04 66 85 10 48. Maison Rouge, 5 rue de l’Industrie or 35 Grand-rue in Saint-Jean-du-Gard. Program here. I subscribe to read more
