The Union Bouliste Bagnolaise organized a ceremony on Tuesday, September 24 to congratulate its para-sportsmen. 11 of the club's 12 representatives won medals last June at the French Para-Sport Boules Championships.
Congratulating its champions. The Union Bouliste Bagnolaise (UBB) met on Tuesday, September 24 at the indoor bowling alley to celebrate its paraboulists, who suffer from mental disorders. During the French Para Sport Boules Championships (June 2024) in Montfaucon, 11 of the club's 12 competitors won medals. In particular, the bowler Christophe Lemeur won the title of French Champion in the discipline “Precision Shooting”.
In tribute to their performances, the UBB organized a prize-giving ceremony, punctuated by speeches from the educators. “It's nice and I take it with great pride, enthuses Christophe Lemeur. It's a nice club with top educators! “
“It was a great human adventure”
Throughout this adventure, five instructors, four of whom are volunteers, supervised the paraboulists. Each mentor was marked by the experience of the competition. But it was above all the human and social bonds formed with the athletes that left indelible memories among the instructors.“It was a great human adventure, with great thrills, declared Nicolas Barouin, instructor and employee of the UBB, in front of all the members of the association. It was a life lesson. Can't wait for next year. "
A feeling shared by Christian Dumerger. The educator has been working with the section for eight years and has seen the ins and outs of the project. "It's a real pleasure to have been able to work with everyone here, says the club's educator. I am so proud of what we have been able to do. It is great for everyone."
Invited to the event, the mayor of Bagnols-sur-Cèze congratulated the entire association. "I wanted to thank the UBB for what the club brings to the region, said Jean-Yves Chapelet. Associations must have a social role and this is the case here. I am proud to have you in the area and that we can experience all this together."
At the end of the prize-giving ceremony, the members of the Union Bouliste Bagnolaise gathered around a buffet to close the commemoration.
