Samire Lymani was tried for six days for the murder of Aurélie Vaquier whose body was found in a concrete sarcophagus on April 7, 2021 in Bédarieux (Hérault). He has always denied the facts and will appeal.
To the applause of part of the room, Samire Lymani responded with vociferations on Tuesday, at the time of the verdict of the Hérault assizes.
"You have no shame? You put an innocent man in prison! Aurélie has not been avenged!" he shouts, mad with rage, before being evacuated by the police.
Just before, unsurprisingly, the court sentenced him but to the heavy sentence of 30 years of criminal imprisonment. And this, for having killed his companion Aurélie Vaquier, asphyxiated by “taking sleep”, compression of the carotid artery, before being put in a tarpaulin, covered with a slab of concrete, hidden under a parquet floor, a carpet, a platform and boxes of belongings, at the couple's home in Bédarieux.
"It's a relief, the trial was very tough"
"After two and a half years of waiting, of research, it was successful, it’s a relief because this trial was very hard… I would like to thank the gendarme who had the sense to look under this platform, without him, everything could have collapsed" reacts, his voice in tears, Jérémy Vaquier, one of the brothers of the deceased, just after the verdict.
He and his loved ones had led the search, hoping to find Aurélie alive. Their hopes were dashed on April 7, 2021 when the concrete sarcophagus was discovered.
"You're going to free me, we're going to restart the case"
But the six days of trial attested that the victim was killed at the end of January. The entire sequel was nothing more than a Machiavellian and uncomfortable staging of this former soldier and ex-heavy truck driver who came to settle in Hérault in the summer of 2020 where he met Aurélie Vaquier.
By pronouncing his guilt, the court validates the worst-case scenario. The one where Lymani kills Aurélie Vaquier, then decides to hide the body by burying it at home. Before writing a false message to make people believe that the victim has gone to recharge their batteries elsewhere.
He then goes to Ain to see his family and brings his son and nephew back to Bédarieux for a week's vacation, while the corpse is there, under their feet… And he ends up, urged by the relatives of the missing person, by reporting her disappearance to the gendarmerie. The discovery of the body marks the beginning of his incarceration and his protests: an external killer killed his partner.
"I never hurt Aurélie"
When the court grants him the floor one last time, Lymani loses his temper, with a formidable theatricality for anyone who has not listened to the debates: "It's been three years now where I believe in justice, every day I tell myself that we are going to discover the truth and nothing is happening! I never hurt Aurélie" he says to the court, crying crocodile tears for all the observers.
"Aurélie Vaquier was a beautiful person… They killed her, they buried her at my house, but they thought she wouldn't be found ?.
"I've always assumed that porn sites, I drink, I smoke…"
He also dares to propose the market of grotesque despair: "I’have always assumed, porn sites, I drink, I smoke… You are going to release me because I did nothing, We are going to relaunch the case with a new judge.
Just before, his lawyer, Mr. Montfort, lists the bushes that hide the forest of incriminating evidence: unknown DNA on the funeral tarpaulin alongside that of his client, untested computers, the phone of the victim found late.
"What is the mobile ?"
"Acquittal is the logic of doubt" he recalls, raising one of the unresolved questions due to fault confession: "what is the motive??."
The court, however, rallied behind the implacable demonstration of the attorney general who mentioned the Lymani couple – Vaquier « adrift » financial and emotional that can justify taking action against Aurélie who wants to escape this nightmare.
"Abracadabrantesque hypothesis"
"The hypothesis of the unknown is absurd, this means that without a break-in, he killed Aurélie Vaquier and buried her at her home, bringing bags of cement" tackle Damien Kincher. "This stranger is you".
Above all, he requires 30 years by evoking his criminological dangerousness "which is measured by his lack of remorse and his frightening emotional coldness. We must prevent him from starting again with other women. The case is not yet over, via his lawyer Lymani indicated that he was going to appeal: "We do not fear the appeal, everything has been said" reacts Jérémy Vaquier.
