Seriously injured in his adductors in the off-season after joining THW in the summer of 2023, Gérard therefore left Germany without having played a single official match with the Zebras. The French international with 150 caps is paying the price for the great performances of his compatriot Samir Bellahcene, recruited precisely to compensate for Gérard's package.
