The Ascension Feria will be a sea of ​​activities offered in Alès, from May 8 to 12, but also a cohort of associative bodégas frequented by festival-goers. Every year, they take over public space and rub shoulders with those set up by a few bars and brasseries in the heart of the city. However, these are obviously already on the bridge.

A major extension announced at Cristal Bar

Thus, at the Cristal Bar, on Boulevard Louis-Blanc, Christophe Barral, the manager, announces that he "is using the same concept as the others years", that is to say a large extension on the sidewalk. "From Saturday evening, or even Friday, we will start the assembly, because there are a lot of things to install", he says. "We almost go to the restaurant next door…"

The bull will, of course, return to Pablo

Opposite the roundabout, Le Pablo is also a hot spot for the feria and, there too, tradition will be respected: the bodega will be private and bracelets will be provided "to the regulars" so that they can go through “security”, in the evening. The development of the space will begin on Sunday and, specifies Kévin Facon, who works there, "we will put the bull back. It's going to be huge!"

"A beautiful sound and light structure" promised to Louis Blanc

At Louis Blanc, further up the boulevard, Samuel Tavernier is also back, with a private bodega, as he has been doing since 2018. "We are going to go up a beautiful sound and light structure", he declares. "The installation will take place Sunday and Monday, to be ready for the security commission on Tuesday, then start on Wednesday, at 11 a.m."

A bodega will be missing at Place du Général-Leclerc

This year, a party venue, which made its debut in 2023, will be missing: the bodega of Muzicologik and the merchants' association UCIA, on the Place du Général-Leclerc. "We do not have the technical possibility of renewing this", explains Antoine Brasseur. "We hit a little hard last year ; we went all out, with a beautiful set." Nevertheless, the co-creator of the music studio is planning a return for the 2025 feria: "Of course yes. We're already preparing for it!"

What will they offer on Sunday ?

Thursday, the City indicated that wine merchants will lower their curtains at the end of the evening of May 11, with the exception of Lou Regain, Place de la Mairie, which will continue to welcome party-goers and other aficionados on Sundays, like every year. The Louis Blanc is already planning to serve a brunch at noon that day. Le Cristal Bar and Le Pablo will also continue to party. Until around noon for the first. Until the evening for the second. "Until what time ? It depends on the attendance", indicates Kévin Facon.
