The cult Thriller of the 90s “silence of the lambs” scares more than one generation of viewers. Throughout the film, the audience out in a cold sweat, the sight of Hannibal – the shrill, keen, like a snake preparing to jump.
To achieve this look Anthony Hopkins found a prototype for his hero. They became killer Charles Manson, who was serving a sentence in a California prison for murder with special cruelty. Hopkins spent many hours watching videotapes of the conversation Manson and adopted a relaxed demeanor of the killer, and that during the conversation, he does not blink.
The actor used this technique in the work on the image of Lecter. And once applied it in real life – namely, at the premiere screening of “silence of the lambs”.
Anthony Hopkins went to the premiere with his colleague who was terrified of going alone on such a terrible film. Anthony, that anybody did not stick to it, disguised all the classic Hollywood rules: wearing a hat and dark glasses.
