Upon their return from Christmas vacation, employees did not start the year in the best possible way, quite the contrary.

They thought they would return to work in their company as planned, this Wednesday, January 3, 2024. However, their bosses decided otherwise, without warning them.

Doors closed

In Essonne, the four employees of a company specializing in floor and wall coverings found their doors closed when they returned from vacation, says Le Parisien.

Locks changed

Impossible to access their warehouse, the entrance locks were changed in their absence. "It's violent…And a big fuck-up", commented one of the four employees, all on permanent contracts.

As early as the summer of 2023, business began to go badly for the company, according to employees. No construction site, few customers, then, in October, takeover of the company. News that employees learn "on a website", according to Le Parisien.

"They let the company rot"

The last two months of 2023, employees would no longer have been paid. "They let the company rot, and so did us,” confides an employee on a daily basis.

The employees of this company now find themselves unemployed. They intend to assert their rights before the courts, at the industrial tribunal. In the meantime, they remain in front of the premises of their company, with which they are still under contract, to "avoid being accused of abandoning their post".
