The name of Joe Vrbetic has been talked about lately, the hope of the Montreal Canadiens in net performing well with the Lions of Trois-Rivières. Although the Ontarian played well against the Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday night, his team lost 2-1 at Colisée Videotron.

Saturday, Vrbetic had blocked 41 pucks, in road to a 2-1 win that ended a three-game losing streak. The ECHL team affiliated with the Habs once again gave a lot of responsibility to its goalkeeper, author of 28 saves. Lively in his travels, the 20-year-old has multiplied the beautiful parades to keep his team in the game.

The visitors scored both goals in the second period. Tied in numbers each time, Danny Katic and Griffin Lunn beat Vrbetic.

Cédric Lacroix finally put the Lions on the scoresheet midway through the third period. The Shefford native deflected Santino Centorame's blue line shot past Cale Morris. The 28-year-old forward has been doing well since joining the Trois-Rivières club with 10 points in 14 games.

The Mauricie team will have the opportunity to respond to the Admirals. The two teams will face off again on Friday and Saturday at the Colisée Vidéotron.
