Joshua Roy shines in defeat
|DAY
Montreal Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy got back to his frenetic pace with the Sherbrooke Phoenix, but his three-point night did not allow his team to defeat the Val-d'Or Foreurs , Wednesday.
The hosts prevailed 5-4 at the Agnico Eagle Center thanks to shootout successes by Justin Robidas and Kale McCallum.
The Foreurs pulled off this victory thanks to their relentlessness. Trailing 4-1 after just under 38 minutes, they fought back three times to force an extra period.
Alexandre Doucet was once again a part integral to the win for his team by scoring two goals and an assist. He is the top scorer on the Courteau circuit, with 22 goals, ahead of his opponent of the day Justin Gill by two goals.
Doucet is also the second scorer on the circuit, but he is 10 points behind Jordan Dumais , of the Halifax Mooseheads.
Charles-Antoine Beauregard and Louis Robin also threaded the needle for the Foreurs.
As for the Phoenix attack, it was increased to arm's length by Roy. After becoming an accomplice to Milo Roelens' 11th goal of the season, the Beauceron made the red light sparkle twice. Anthony Munroe-Boucher completed the scoring for the visitors.
Roy has scored 17 goals and had 38 points in 23 games this season.
