Le Mézois a été déclaré vainqueur du tournoi de la Société des Jouteurs Balarucois, ce jeudi 15 août, son adversaire Théo Birba ayant quitté le plancher après une première passe qui a suscité le débat.

The storm had nevertheless taken care to bypass the pond, thus preserving the good holding of the SJB tournament this Thursday. Despite everything, the day ended with some disruptions. The fault of a final fight which ultimately did not take place.

Eleven men had previously managed to escape from the qualifiers. And the revenge began strongly with Guillaume Blanes who broke his lance on Adrian Lisanti's shield, before finally laying down his arms two passes later. There was then something to debate about, when Jean-Louis Montels was eliminated for having pushed Jonathan Michelot. It was still necessary to be able to find a shield.

It was clearer between Gauthier Benezech and Sylvio Cuciniello. The two men, as in the days of their great clashes in the youth categories, delivered a committed fight and the Frontignanais had the last word. Mickaël Wolff, for his part, made a strong impression by throwing Thibaut Lognos. Adrian Lisanti, eliminated after three passes against Louis Liguori, could have regrets while Théo Birba (winner of John Ragno by forfeit) got rid of Jonathan Michelot.

Two versions, one choice

In the semi-final, the leader Wolff did not tremble in front of his runner-up Cuciniello, in a fight where both men were totally committed. In danger, Théo Birba signed for his part a beautiful spear shot to get rid of Louis Liguori.

Then came this final. From the first pass, Mickaël Wolff's spear came on Théo Birba's chest. Dangerous joust ? Pavois shifted just before impact ? The two opponents each had their version. The jury chose to cancel the pass and Birba, to show his disagreement, decided to leave the floor. Thus leaving Wolff to do a necessarily undemonstrative lap of honour
