The bullet that injured Kendji Girac on Monday morning was indeed fired from his caravan, the first expert reports confirm. Several witnesses speak of an accident, but other analyzes and the singer's hearing will have to confirm this lead or not.

This Monday, April 22, 2024 morning, the bullet which hit Kendji Girac in the chest on a major passage area of ​​Biscarrosse in the Landes was indeed fired from inside the singer's caravan. This is in fact what the first ballistic expertises cited by Le Parisien reveal in the framework of the investigation opened by the gendarmerie for "attempted voluntary homicide".

The bullet pierced the caravan from inside

Before emerging from his back, the bullet pierced the passenger compartment of the caravan from the inside to the outside. This element is therefore consistent with the version given by the 27-year-old artist. A few minutes after his injury, he told investigators who went to the hospital "that it was a shooting which he described as accidental". The shot would have fired while he was handling a "11 caliber automatic pistol, purchased shortly before".< /p>

This Colt 45 was mysteriously found in a ditch in the camp "at the suggestion of family members", underlined Olivier Janson in a press release issued Monday evening. This weapon is currently being analyzed.

Several witnesses confirm the accident theory

On the other hand, several testimonies questioned by the investigators attest that the interpreter "of’Andalouse" and his partner were alone in their caravan at the time of the shooting. According to corroborating sources, the latter told investigators that she heard the shooting, but did not witness the accident. Members of his family present at the camp confirmed that the shooting was the result of an accident while handling the weapon.

"At this stage, nothing in the testimonies collected or in the technical expertise allows us to contradict the artist's version. But we must remain vigilant. It is behind closed doors and the action of a third party or a suicide attempt that certain relatives would have tried to conceal cannot be excluded", underlines a source close to the file of Parisien.

Other results of expertise, concerning the possible presence of gunshot residue on the hands of Kendji Girac or his partner, who were both subjected to samples by gendarmerie experts, are expected in the coming hours.
