Kéolis Méditerranée employees continue their strike action and threaten the start of the school year

Deuxième semaine de grève "très suivie" à kéolis Méditerranée, selon le syndicat Unsa. Qui n'exclut pas de reprendre le mouvement à la rentrée si les revendications ne sont pas prises en compte.

Kéolis Méditerranée employees began a new week of mobilization this Monday, July 1. It results in disruptions across the entire network for the 7 a.m. time slot – 7 h 55.

The Unsa union observes "a very strong participation with around 75 % of striking drivers and workshop staff across all of the three sites (Agde, Sète and Frontignan) including 94% in Agde". "Proposals to increase the hourly rate below inflation do not pass, explains union delegate Cédric Goyer. At the heart of the problem too, better support for compulsory company mutual insurance by Kéolis is expected. We note that other Kéolis subsidiaries have increased the employer's share of their mutual insurance and half of our driving staff earn less than 1,000 euros. per month. We are talking about a boost of 30 euros/month, for a company which has just made 175,000 euros. of profit. This does not seem unfeasible."

Strike threats for early September

L’Unsa does not hesitate to reiterate its threats for the start of the school year. "We hope that after 10 days of protest, the management will finally hear us but if that is not enough, we will not hesitate to start again from September 2 by toughening up the strike if necessary."
