Six million euros for floating solar

#MONTPELLIER/SETE. SolarinBlue and its partners (Technip energies, the University of Montpellier, the Oceanographic Observatory of Banyuls-sur-Mer) have just obtained funding of 6 M€ within the France 2030 framework operated by Ademe (The Environment and Energy Management Agency), to develop "Méga Sète", the first Mediterranean offshore solar park launched by the Montpellier start-up. The company, hosted in the southern port of France in the Occitanie region, announced its ambitions a few months ago: to become within 3 years the world leader in floating offshore solar, having "vocation to find its place in the energy mix of coastal areas all over the world", indicated Aurélien Crocq, director of SolarinBlue. Méga Sète, with a power of 1MWp, could produce 1,300 MWh per year. Designed to withstand a 10 m swell, the park would be operational at the end of 2025, on an area of ​​1 ha, 2 km from the Sète coast. Electricity will be transported to land by an underwater cable.

#FRANCE/SPAIN. In number of passengers transported, the results of one year of operation of the Madrid-Marseille and Barcelona-Lyon railway lines by Renfe.
