After its traditional winter break, the botanical park starts again for a new season starting this Saturday, March 2.

All staff at the bamboo grove are in the starting blocks for the opening of the park to the public from this Saturday, March 2.

Winter was used to maintain the 14 hectares of this marvelous place created in 1855 by an enlightened botanist, Eugène Mazel, who had succeeded in acclimatizing exotic species in this fertile valley near Anduze, including the famous bamboo. It was a certain Gaston Nègre who bought it in 1902. Since then, four generations have followed one another. The current director, Valentine Crouzet, specifies: "La Bambouseraie must remain a family business, which is part of our DNA".

New South African flora

With the end of winter, a whole range of fauna and flora will naturally reappear. The 28 permanent employees spared no effort to surprise the visitors.
"During the last season, we had more than 250,000 paid entries, especially during the first half of August", she specifies. During this season, enthusiasts will be able to admire as usual the majestic redwoods of California, the avenue of Chinese palm trees, the Laotian village and the Dragon Valley.
New to discover: the semi-desert and arid climate of South Africa has been recreated in the park's greenhouses, with emblematic native plants such as proteas with surprising flowers, euphorbias and strelitzias, these magnificent ; birds of paradise”. Moreover. There will also be plants native to Australia.

The park will participate this year in European Heritage Days on September 21 and 22 and in Plant Day on October 13. The director is attacking this new season calmly. « We have done everything to ensure that everything goes well, while respecting the environment. she specifies.
If you have to pay for entry to the bamboo grove, you can access the garden center area free of charge where you can receive advice from professionals. "By purchasing products from the garden center, it’s a part of the bamboo grove that we bring home", concludes the director.

The park is open during the summer seasons of 2024, until November 17.
