Laval Rocket: Emil Heineman has a perfect style of play for North America North

UP & Agrave; DAY

Since arriving from Sweden, forward Emil Heineman hasn't taken long to shine with the Laval Rocket.

In his first six games in the American League, he scored seven points, including six goals.

A performance that helped the school club of the Canadian to stay in the North Section playoff race. The Swede keeps both feet on the ground when asked about his excellent streak.

“I just want to keep playing the same way,” said Emil Heineman. It is difficult to explain my current successes.

“I have been playing with confidence since my arrival and I am shooting more on goal. We have a good chemistry within our trio (with Pierrick Dubé and Mitchell Stephens). My style of play fits well with that practiced in America.”

Heineman did not have a season that lived up to his expectations with the formation of Leksands IF. He has 15 points in 35 games.

“I was trying to be as creative as possible in a defensive-oriented league,” said the 21-year-old athlete. The chances of scoring were not many in the games. I had a good chance, but the puck didn't fit. »

Complimentary Houle

The person least surprised by the Heineman sequence is Jean-François Houle.

< p>“He had been one of our best players in rookie camp. We had seen very good things from him, mentioned the Rocket coach. Of course we would have liked to have him with us. He went back to Sweden for contract reasons.”

Heineman could be the hidden card in the deal that sent Tyler Toffoli to the Calgary Flames last season.

“He has a very big ceiling for his potential. He is a very serious hope for the Canadian.

“He has a good size. He is very good at puck protection in addition to having a good shot. He has a good vision of the game and he knows how to place himself in the right place. I see great progress in him.”
