LCH: A complete domination of the hopes of the Ducks

LCH: Complete Ducks prospect domination

The Anaheim Ducks should have no trouble on the power play in the next few years.

In addition to forwards Trevor Zegras, Troy Terry and Mason McTavish and promising Jamie Drysdale, who are already with the team, the California team can boast of having the rights of the best offensive defenseman in the three main Canadian junior circuits.

En Indeed, Tristan Luneau (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League/QMJHL), Pavel Mintyukov (Ontario Junior League/OHL) and Olen Zellweger (Western Junior League/WHL) lead their respective leagues in terms of points.

On the Belle Province circuit, Luneau, a second-round pick in 2022, has scored 18 goals and 74 points in 60 games with the Gatineau Olympiques this season. He also leads in goals, tied with Étienne Morin of the Moncton Wildcats.

The domination of Mintyukov, chosen 10th at the same auction, is all the more impressive with the 67's from Ottawa. He tallied 23 goals and 85 points in 65 games, leading his closest pursuer by 12 points.

Finally, Zellweger, who shone in the Canadian squad at the last World Championship junior hockey, has already scored 28 goals in 49 games this season. His 74 points are also good for No. 1 in the WHL, but the member of the Kamloops Blazers shares the league lead in defense with Ben Zloty and Stanislav Svozil.
