Maïlys Pohl, qui étudie l’art de la bijouterie, a décroché le Grand prix de l’apprentissage.

The presentation of the Grand Prize for Apprenticeship of the SMLH (Society of Members of the Legion of Honor) took place in the reception room of the Compagnons du Devoir house in Nîmes, in the presence of numerous civil and military personalities. . 10 years ago, on the initiative of Admiral Scmuckel, who then chaired the Gard section, and Marion de Gueser, who was its vice-president, created this event to reward young apprentices.

In front of a jury, each defended a project

Today, Jean-François Serrano and Monique Pigé, section vice-presidents, took up the torch. If the SMLH is interested in learning, it is for the values it conveys, as Guy Château, section president, explains:"The Legion of Honor contributes with this grand prize to ensuring that apprenticeship is truly considered an opportunity for success for young people looking for a professional path. In fact, the values of the Legion of Honor and those of learning share similarities, although they apply in different contexts. Among these points of convergence, we find excellence, commitment, solidarity, ethics, these fundamental principles which contribute to individual and collective development."

Guy Château congratulated the young winners for their determination and thanked Carac, the Lions Club and Crédit Agricole, the partners of the SMLH, bearers of the values advocated by the Company and who are participating in the event . The apprentices, selected from 10 establishments in Gard, had to defend their project in front of a jury. Present at the ceremony, Christophe Mauny, Dasen du Gard and member of this jury, also congratulated all the candidates, before specifying that the jury had appreciated the human value before that of the project.

Encouragement prize, jury prize, excellence prize and Grand prize, a total of 22 young people were rewarded, the Grand prize being awarded to Maïlys Pohl, who has just obtained a CAP in Art and technique of jewelry after training at the IRFMA in Nîmes, the training center of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Gard. The winner will soon have the opportunity to defend her project during the national event organized by the SMLH in Paris.
