Jean-Paul Fournier, mayor of Nîmes, sends RN and LFI back to back and gives no voting instructions. He says he is angry with the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron.
The mayor of Nîmes Jean-Paul Fournier, as in his last positions, does not give any voting instructions for the second round of the legislative elections. “It's up to voters to make an informed choice. I send the RN and LFI back to back. The RN because this party remains animated by excesses and economic inconsistencies. LFI, because it is a clan of enthusiastic communitarians and the risk is great of seeing Mr. Mélenchon and his friends enter Matignon", underlines the first magistrate of the city, figure of the Les Républicains party.
No voting instructions as in 2022
He welcomes the strong mobilization of the French and also regrets the elimination of LR candidates in the 1st and 6th constituency of Gard: "En taking a risky and winding ridge line, they demonstrated courage and independence, which honors the Gaullist family. A family that will not die."
Jean-Paul Fournier also blames the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron "who has continued to weaken the traditional parties since 2007 and whose the political work is revealed today in broad daylight. Already, in 2022, the mayor of Nîmes had not given any instructions voting on the evening of the first round.
In addition, Senator Les Républicains Laurent Burgoa also announced this Sunday evening with our colleagues from France bleu Gard Lozère that he would not give any voting instructions.
