Legislative elections 2024: half a thousand demonstrators mobilized against the far right in the streets of Mende

At the call of the Lozerian inter-union association, at least 500 people demonstrated on Saturday June 15, 2024 in the streets of Mende, to show their hostility to the surge of the extreme right during the next early legislative elections.
All united and gathered to stand up against the rise in power of the extreme in Lozère and in France, such was the slogan of the demonstration organized by the l’ local inter-union this Saturday June 15, 2024 in Mende. Gathered at Place du Foirail from 10:30 a.m. and after local union leaders spoke, half a thousand demonstrators then toured the city.
In the crowd were notably present Sophie Pantel, the Lozère candidate in the early legislative elections for the New Popular Front (and current president of the Departmental Council) and her deputy Serge Gayssot. Young and old chanted their hostility to the extreme right and to the National Rally (RN) of Marine le Pen and Jordan Bardella.
