The national agreement distributed the single candidates across the constituencies. LFI and the PS obtain two candidacies, the Greens and the PC one.

"The New Popular Front carries a story. A story of hope and victory." At Prolé, this Friday evening, the secretary of the PC section of Nîmes, Denis Lanoy, launched the party. A moment of joy aimed at celebrating the union of the left within the framework of the New Popular Front, to combat the rise of the extreme right. Here are the candidates.

In the 1st constituency (Nîmes-Beaucaire), Charles Menard, LFI, is going back into battle. In 2022, he was rejected in the first round, 469 votes behind Françoise Dumas (LREM). This 67-year-old psychiatrist is convinced: this time, the dynamics of the left-wing New Popular Front will work in his favor. “The ambition is not just to get to the second round, but to win! I think it's possible. ” An opposition elected official in Beaucaire, Charles Menard will face an old acquaintance, the RN Yoann Gillet, outgoing MP.

In the 2nd constituency (Camargue), we change parties. In 2022, it was an LFI candidate (Coralie Ghirardi) who was nominated for the left. She was eliminated in the first round. There, as part of the New Popular Front, it is the socialist Katy Guyot who is invested. A well-known figure in the Camargue (deputy mayor of Vauvert), regional elected official, Katy Guyot was a candidate in 2012, beaten in the second round by Gilbert Collard in a triangular election.

On the 3rd constituency of Gard (Bagnols-sur-Cèze), we find Sabine Oromi (PC), who had already campaigned for 2022. This Spanish teacher at the Philippe-Lamour high school in Nîmes, a lifelong communist, came in 3rd place in the first round, not far from Anthony Cellier (LREM). “If the brown plague comes to power, we will lose rights. I will fight to not lose any and if I am elected as a deputy, I will win some”, she told Le Prolé on Friday evening.

In the 4th constituency (Alès-Pont Saint-Esprit), the former federal secretary of the PS in Gard, Arnaud Bord, is a candidate. He had also led the 2022 campaign. In the second round, he was beaten by the RN Pierre Meurin, deploring the absence of a republican front in the second round. He is returning to the 4th (Alès, Pont-Saint-Esprit).

In the 5th constituency (Cévennes), the LFI Michel Sala, outgoing deputy, is returning, as already indicated in our columns.

Finally, in the 6th constituency (Nîmes-Uzès), it is finally Nicolas Cadène (related to the Ecologists, not a card-carrying member), who is designated in a second phase. Initially, the party's executive office had chosen Béatrice Leccia, the departmental spokesperson for the environmentalists.

“On July 8, France is run by the fascists… or by the left”, Charles Menard chanted this Friday at the Prolé in Nîmes. Inviting everyone to go and vote on June 30 and July 7. For the New Popular Front, obviously.
