Les travaux sont lancés, aussi, à Liausson où l'ASA porte depuis des années un projet d'irrigation raisonnée.

With the blue gold of Salagou in the background, the irrigation works of the ASA of Liausson are beating… their full in the heart of the vineyard. Here, the project, which extends over 96 hectares between the village and the banks of the lake, is becoming reality against a backdrop of global warming. 37 hectares of vines are already watered by the waters of the lake. But with this new plan, supported by the ASA, "this collective project makes it possible to pool eleven pumpings today  individual (some of which can be particularly noisy, editor's note) with a soundproof pumping station for 13 farms (including 9 in main agricultural activity, editor's note)", explains Sébastien Vaissade, winegrower of cru, deputy president of the ASA, who specifies that 84,000 M3 were allocated by the Local Water Commission in September 2018, "that only represents a low water level of  9 mm" on the Salagou.

Controlled irrigation

A winegrower who pleads for reasoned irrigation, “for comfort”, and not to artificially boost production. Moreover, "since last year, to optimize resource management, the 4 ASA in the sector* analyze the behavior of the vineyard, on 16 witness plots of different geologies." In partnership with the Chamber of Agriculture, this data allows farmers to control the parameter as best as possible. "This support made it possible to reduce irrigation by 20% on more arid plots and up to 45% on less arid ones"< /em>, he calculates.

Up to triple certification

And if the farmer praises a virtuous vineyard which protects the landscape from erosion, and therefore the lake from long silting up, he also develops pomegranate buffer zones. A crop of the future, requiring very little water and requiring no treatment. Moreover, in this matter, the town of 145 souls is a good student. An essential issue as runoff water inexorably ends up in the lake… "Here, in winter, 100% of the town's grass is crushed& ;nbsp;by the sheep of Laura The Shepherdess. We have two herds in eco-grazing… 8 out of 9 farms have environmental certifications in Liausson: 6 have dual BIO and HVE certification, two also have, in addition, Terra Vitis certification. Here, today, there are no CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Reprotoxic) products. I talk about it all the more easily since my father died from this crap", says Sébastien Vaissade.

A man of the earth…who takes care of it.
