The main broadcaster of Ligue 1 for the next five seasons, DAZN, announced on Wednesday that it was partnering with operator Free to enable it to offer “quasi-live” excerpts of matches, in a dedicated application.
The two companies “are teaming up to offer free and exclusive access to the highlights of Ligue 1 McDonald’s matches in the new Free FOOT application (formerly Free Ligue 1)", they write in a press release.
"Available on iOS and Android, Free FOOT will allow football fans to relive, in almost live extracts, the goals, the clear chances, the hot actions, the most significant moments of the competition" and match summaries, detail the two partners.
"Free FOOT will be accessible to all football fans, subscribers or not, which makes it one of the easiest ways to follow Ligue 1 McDonald’s", they add.
Without commitment
“This content is available free of charge and without commitment, during and after each match”, Free and DAZN detail. At the end of a long saga for the allocation of Ligue 1 rights until 2029, the British sports streaming platform DAZN has acquired eight out of nine live matches per day, for an average of 400 million euros per year, and beIN one match for 100 million euros.
On Tuesday, DAZN unveiled its offers: 29.99 euros per month for eight live matches with a one-year commitment, 39.99 euros per month for the same thing without a commitment, and 14.99 euros for a Sunday match at 5 p.m.
