QUÉBEC | minister Lionel Carmant takes up in the ranks and was entrusted with new responsibilities or all of the records under the social services.
As the deputy minister of Health and to the services, Lionel Carmant already had the responsibility for the well-being of children and young people, services for people with a physical disability, intellectual or a disorder in the autism spectrum, of the adoption and the computerisation of the network.
Its new mandate will include now all of the folders in the social services and some health services, including services mother-to-child, mental health and addiction, in homelessness, in addition to the support to community-based organizations.
These new tasks previously under the responsibility of the minister of Health and social Services, Danielle McCann. It has, however, been replaced by the ex-president of the treasury Board, Christian Dubé, at a recent cabinet reshuffle.
“I am very proud to take up these folders of great importance, and to continue my commitment to the people of Quebec with my colleagues, the minister of Health and social Services, Christian Dubé, and the minister responsible for Seniors and caregivers, Marguerite Blais,” said Lionel Carmant, by means of a press release on Tuesday.
