Madonna has been talking about her around the world lately, first for her return to the stage, but also for her face being made unrecognizable. The star, for her part, obviously prefers to laugh.

Madonna posted a photo of herself on Twitter. The 64-year-old star sports pigtails, ripped jeans and a cap with the words 'SPIRITUALLY HUNGRY' on it. And in the caption, she added, “Look how cute I look now that the swelling from surgery is fading.”

Critics of Madonna's appearance peaked during her appearance at the Grammy Awards. The singer had come to present Sam Smith and Kim Petras, before their interpretation of the title Unholy on stage. After the event, the singer responded to the unfriendly comments she received online.

“Instead of focusing on what I said in my speech – which was to thank the courage of artists like Sam and Kim – a lot of people chose to only talk about close-up photos of me taken with a long-lens camera by a professional photographer. It would distort anyone's face!!”, she commented in an Instagram post.

“Once again I am caught in the prism of ageism and the misogyny that pervades the world we live in,” she added. “I've never apologized for any of the creative choices I made or how I looked or dressed and I'm not going to start now.”
