Lunel: new traffic plan in the city center since Monday February 12
|Le nouveau plan de circulation en centre-ville – S.W
Deux nouveaux chantiers s’ouvrent rue des Aventures et rue Frédéric-Mistral.
Traffic in the city center is even more restricted and modified in two new sectors since Monday, February 12. Temporarily, it will no longer be possible to go up Rue des Aventures to Place de la République. The portion of this street, located between the Sainte-Thérèse school and the Place de la République, will in fact be completely closed to traffic, during the entire two-week school vacation (also read on page 12). Traffic on rue de l’Aventure will therefore be diverted from rue des Nouvelles (which will change direction of traffic until rue des Arts).
Rue Mistral ends in a dead end rue Kléber
Furthermore, to the east of Cours Péri, a construction site will open for two and a half months at the porch of the Prisons Tower and on rue Frédéric-Mistral approximately until level of rue Kléber. This work results in several significant changes to traffic in this area. First on rue Alfonse-Ménard, traffic will be completely prohibited beyond rue des Nouvelles. Motorists will be diverted onto this rue des Nouvelles which will be one-way until rue des Arts.
Other changes, definitive ones, at rue Frédéric-Mistral which will end in a dead end at rue Kléber with a possible turnaround space. At this location, next June, a retractable bollard will determine automobile access to the pedestrian zone. In fact, between rue du Puits-de-Ricard and rue Kléber, access will now be reserved only for local residents.
Change of direction of traffic rue Marc-Antoine-Ménard
This construction site on rue Frédéric-Mistral leads to another significant change in the direction of traffic on rue du Puits-de-Ricard. This will be reversed until rue Marc-Antoine-Ménard. It will therefore no longer be possible to take this street in the upward direction, that is to say from rue Frédéric-Mistral.
