The ASPTT table tennis club, based at 415 avenue Notre-Dame de Santa-Cruz, has two reasons to rejoice at the end of the school year. Maël Laouenan, 9 years old, has just won the 2024 French regional championship in Agen. He also won the Grand Est internationals, came second in the Top Nation U9 and joined the national detection group: the French Table Tennis Federation is following him in his progress. Thus, he can benefit from internships adapted to his abilities. Results celebrated on Thursday June 13, during an evening during which the young athlete will be rewarded by the city of Nîmes.

The club has another reason to be delighted. In two years, he has doubled the number of members. Félix Coutaudier, professional educator, accompanied by president Cédric Laouenan, details the upcoming projects: "A collaboration has been set up with the Jean-Paulhan and André-Malraux social centers for the system Summer quarters, welcoming groups on the occasion of the Olympic Games, where various challenges will be organized, centered on the values ​​of sport. We plan, like every year, matches with black light, a nice effect which supports a sporting and friendly atmosphere, because we are very supported by the parents." This ASPTT club is now well anchored at Mas de Mingue and Courbessac thanks to actions carried out in partnership with schools and associations.
