Maison Confettis, a cocoon of life and games for families in Écusson
|Emmanuelle Demazeau a ouvert cet espace unique le samedi 21 septembre.
Dépôt-vente, salon de thé, concept store, ateliers : il cible, depuis le 21 septembre, tant les enfants que les parents.
As soon as the work began, onlookers kept knocking on the door, intrigued and curious, bombarding the craftsmen with questions: what was going to open in this place in the heart of the Écusson, with its huge window, walls decorated with birds, light parquet flooring, and colorful wooden cabin?
Since Saturday, September 21, they have the answer: it is indeed a new space in the city of Antonin, located on rue des Marchands, Maison Confettis. A concept store, a tea room, a consignment store and workshops all rolled into one. In short,“a place that does not exist in Nîmes, but which is present in large cities, smiles Emmanuelle Demazeau. I want people to come through the door and feel good, with kindness, including for breastfeeding mothers."
A unique space in Nîmes
A desire born from the "own experience" of this young mother of two little girls aged 18 months and 4 years. Little girls who nourished her "dream of having a third baby by launching (her) business". This former marketing manager for Vinci Autoroute therefore chose to follow a training course on the Business Plan with the BGE, a network of associations supporting business creation. “I presented my thesis to a jury composed of a banker, Initiative Gard and France Active. The three told me that they were following me financially." In the process, the Avignon native, who had been living in Nîmes for 6 years, found a large 140 square meter space, a former clothing store, and began three months of work.
A safe place to take a break
Maison Confettis was born, making Emmanuelle Demazeau's desires a reality. “First of all, it's a place where you can come and have a coffee, a fruit juice, taste Francin's pastries and cookies. You take a break as a mother while the children play.” A pretty wooden cabin, books, puzzles, games, baby mats, a high chair and a changing table outline "this place of refuge. My second goal is to address parents with an ecological and economic conscience. There is no second-hand children's clothing available in the city center. I only take clothes in perfect condition with a label." With its racks, shelves and fitting rooms, the consignment corner takes on the codes of a store.
Finally, the entrepreneur dreamed of disseminating information. From October, multiple workshops, led by professionals, will open for the family circle, dealing with birth and perinatality, including reflexology and naturopathy. "Philosophy workshops, for 4-8 year olds and 9-12 year olds will allow you to ask yourself: What is nature, jealousy, the planet ? A firefighter will offer sessions on first aid gestures." Not forgetting the practice of yoga as a duo, with your little one… “I think it's great to make my ideas come true, enthuses the adopted Nîmes resident. I believe in it. We jump into the void, but I won't have any regrets.”
