La construction d'une maison du sport est prévue dans le projet.
L’ensemble du site va être chamboulé au cours des années à venir. Les travaux débuteront cet été avec le remplacement de la pelouse par un terrain synthétique.
After the construction of the Didier-Dinart sports hall a few years ago, now comes the turn of the large André-Beaumont sports complex. Located on avenue Joseph-Vallot, it currently consists of a football/rugby field, four tennis courts, a swimming pool (currently closed) as well as two handball and basketball courts. ball. But, given the deterioration of the place and the new needs of the population, it had become imperative for the municipality to renovate this large complex.
A synthetic that uses less water
"Several phases of work are planned, explains Mayor Gaëlle Lévêque. The first will begin in the summer of 2024 with the replacement of the stadium's natural turf with a synthetic set. Two imperatives dictated this choice to us: the first concerns watering the lawn, which we can no longer afford in these times of recurrent drought. In addition to this aspect, synthetic is also much easier to maintain."
"Really, adds sports assistant Ali Benameur, the new field will support forty hours of weekly use compared to only twelve currently !  ;This will allow, among other things, schools to benefit from the lawn."
Athletics corridors
The new stadium will be a latest generation synthetic since the municipality has opted for a covering of cork and corn, unlike the black rubber granules which make up most of the current pitches but which are suspected of containing carcinogenic substances. For running enthusiasts, several athletics corridors will also be set up around the new stadium. On the site of the changing rooms of the old municipal swimming pool, a large room of 80 m² will be built. intended to accommodate all sports associations looking for premises.
A place with a recreational vocation
But the town hall's desire is not to confine the André-Beaumont complex to its sole sporting vocation: “We also want to make it a leisure space, adds Gaëlle Lévêque. At the same time as the stadium, all its surroundings will be redeveloped in order to make it a welcoming place for all Lodévois who, even if they do not practice sport, will be able to enjoy a place with trees in the edge of the Soulondres."
Works until 2027
Once this first phase of work is completed, estimated at 2.4 million euros, the rest of the complex will also undergo a complete redevelopment. The renovation of the municipal swimming pool, the construction of recreational spaces as well as a new layout of the handball, basketball and tennis courts are planned for the years 2025, 2026 and 2027. Finally, the project also provides for the establishment of a bus stop for high school students who will reach their establishment in complete safety, crossing the surroundings of the stadium which have since been remodeled.
