Ce dimanche 18 août 2024, un individu a été arrêté pour avoir agressé un homme à la gorge au couteau devant la gare de Liège en Belgique.

The attack took place this Sunday, around 10:30 in the morning, near the Guillemins train station in Liège, Belgium. A homeless man allegedly attacked a man in the throat with a knife for 10 euros, reports the media outlet DH net.

A less than convincing explanation

In the middle of the morning, the police were called by passers-by for a knife attack that took place on the esplanade of the Liège train station. When they arrived on the scene, the police immediately proceeded to arrest the suspect.

This is a 39-year-old homeless man. The attacker had no less than two knives on him at the time of his arrest, the Belgian media reports. But the individual gives then gave his version of events to the police. He explains that the passer-by who was attacked had asked him shortly before if he could find him some drugs, heroin to be precise.

The man gives him a 10 euro note but the homeless man decides to keep it for himself to eat. It is then that “one of his “knives pricked his ribs,” notes DH net, and decided to take it out but not to attack the individual. Facing the police, he denies being the author of the throat injuries and assures that the knives are for his defense.

After having having learned of the facts, the prosecution requested that the accused be placed under arrest warrant.
