On Friday January 5, the dean of Maraussan, Émilie Astruc, celebrated her 105th birthday. She welcomed into her house Annie Perez, head of the CCAS, the mayor of Maraussan, Serge Pesce, and André Girard, president of the ADMR, who came to congratulate her and offer her flowers.
For the occasion, she was surrounded by her son Pierre Fuentes, born from her first marriage, her grandson Benoît and his wife. The couple lives in the apartment located on the 1st floor and can count on the intervention of home help with Émilie.
Faithful reader of Midi Libre
Benoît will soon take advantage of his retirement to walk his grandmother in a wheelchair around the village. The centenarian likes to watch TV, she is an avid reader of Midi Libre and checks her bank statements herself. She is the grandmother of five generations, the last of which is Luna, 4-year-old great-great-granddaughter.
Émilie Astruc was born in Capestang; she lived in Béziers and worked for a long time in Frontignan. She has lived in peaceful retirement in Maraussan since 1983. Everyone took their leave with their best wishes for this new year.
