Marcoule nuclear site: the inter-union on strike following annual negotiations

After three days of negotiations on salary increases, unions and management were unable to agree on a minimum increase threshold for the lowest salaries, representing one employee in three in Marcoule. While everyone is establishing their positions, there are six days left to ratify the signing of an agreement.

"We don't want to be the poor parents of these negotiations". C' It is with this state of mind that Tristan Maison, FO union delegate from Orano-Melox on the Mercoule left for the annual negotiations with management.

With falling inflation, announced in the first quarter of 2024 at 2.5% by INSEE, this year is proving strategic for the unions who are now seeking to make up for the gap created in recent years: "we still haven't caught up with the salary freeze", underlines Tristan Maison.

Battle for the lowest salaries

At the start of the demands, an increase in salaries of up to 5% depending on parameters such as seniority and mobility. With, for the lowest salaries, a minimum threshold of 150€ monthly gross.

But on the last day of negotiations, January 23, management maintained a firm 4% with a minimum threshold of 47€ – which could concern nearly 320 people -. Against a requirement revised downwards by 4.5% and 120€ union side.

Picket line due to lack of agreement

In the absence of an agreement, the latter declared a strike picket for the day of January 24. The parties have until January 30 to accept the agreement, or risk losing everything: "it's blackmail!" , says Tristan Maison indignantly.

However, on the Tricastin site, the game plays out differently. In its last day of negotiations with management, the day after January 23, it would have obtained ;according to our information, an intermediate agreement of 4% with a minimum threshold of 55 euros. Hence the state of mind of the inter-union in Marcoule.
