Marinated and smoked tofu wrap

Marinated and smoked tofu wrap

Here is an easy and effective way to smoke tofu and incorporate it into a wrap. By giving it a touch of freshness, it is the perfect dish for a dinner on the go or simply to incorporate an alternative protein if we want to diversify our diet. As in a sandwich, we can let our imagination run wild with the toppings and use what we have on hand.

METHOD< /strong>

  1. Cut the block of tofu into 1 cm slices and place them on a plate lined with paper towel. Cover the tofu with another sheet of paper towel and place a plate on top with a weight on top to squeeze out as much water as possible from the tofu.
  2. In an airtight bag, combine all the ingredients for the marinade and add the well-drained tofu. Let stand in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours.
  3. Prepare the BBQ for indirect cooking over medium heat at 275°F. For propane BBQs, prepare an aluminum foil pouch with wood chips, poke a few openings and place it above the heat source. For charcoal BBQs, simply add a block of wood of the essence of your choice to the charcoal.
  4. Place the slices of tofu on the BBQ grill opposite the source heat, close the lid and let smoke for 45 min. Meanwhile, prepare the filling ingredients.
  5. Remove the tofu from the grill and cut into strips. Lay a tortilla flat and place the tofu and the filling of your choice on it. Add a generous portion of vinaigrette before closing the whole thing in the shape of a wrap.
