Swimming has been prohibited on the beach in downtown La Grande-Motte since this Saturday afternoon. A layer of organic waste was observed beyond the 300 meter strip but led the mayor to issue an order in force until Tuesday.

Since this Saturday afternoon and until Tuesday inclusive, swimming is prohibited from the beach in downtown La Grande-Motte. An order was issued to this effect by the mayor of the commune Stéphan Rossignol.

At midday a floating sheet of organic waste, which could contain fecal matter, was discovered beyond the 300 m band. Its surface area was estimated at 1,000 m². Analyzes of this marine pollution have been requested and are in progress.
