The Nevada team announced on Wednesday that the 30-year-old had gone under the knife to fix a back problem. Surgery didn't seem necessary at the time of Stone's injury on January 12, but a relapse prevented him from recovering properly.

The right winger also missed 26 games last season due to back problems. He came back strong in 2022-23 with 38 points in 43 games.

The Knights have lost their last four games and will return to action after the All-Star Game break on Tuesday against the Nashville Predators.
