This new government system aims to support and accelerate industrial developments. Ideal as Genvia has signed an agreement with the Agglo Béziers Méditerranée for the study of the establishment of its factory in this area.

"It’is the only site in Hérault", proudly says Joël Daures, director of Sem (Mixed Economy Company) Viaterra, manager of the Mazeran technopark. The 90 hectare area located at the entrance to Béziers, on the edge of Boujan-sur-Libron, has just been labeled 'France 2030 turnkey sites'. by the government. It appears on a list of 55 winners on the national territory, five of which are located in Occitanie. "Mazeran is also one of the five national sites to be operational from 2024&quot ;, underlines Joël Daures again.

The winners chosen were based on "their economic attractiveness, control of their land, their maturity and their integration into the territorial project& quot;, indicates a press release. The objective of this new system is in fact "to identify sites with high industrial development potential and support them" , particularly with regard to investors and industrial project leaders.

"We are in full visibility"

"Little by little, the planets are aligning", continues the director. "We are coordinated with the industrialists, with Genvia but not only…", he insists. As a reminder, the company Genvia, which is developing cutting-edge technology in the emerging global market for decarbonized hydrogen, has signed an agreement with the Agglo Béziers Méditerranée for the study of the establishment of its factory in the Mazeran area, over an area of ​​49 hectares. But there would therefore be land left to accommodate other projects.

"Béziers is an industrial city, it emerged from the shadows with Genvia and local dynamics were put in place. This industrial positioning was consolidated by the France 2030 program, then the Territory of industry." But while what does this new label bring, concretely ? "We appear at the forefront at the national level. The government is going to direct projects to these sites, so we are in full visibility", welcomes Joël Daures. "Tomorrow, we can bring together the driving forces of industry around this site, there is room and possibilities for expansion."

An envelope of 450 million euros

Other interest: "We will benefit from support on urbanization and environmental procedures with state services. The procedures will be made easier, this saves a lot of time. For me, this is the most important." Finally, an envelope of 450 million euros is intended for all 55 sites . "If we can put butter in the spinach…" smiles Joël Daures. < em>"We are consolidating our approach and that gives everyone confidence", he finally summarizes.

For 2 and a half years, no marketing has been undertaken in Mazeran, in view of the arrival of Genvia. No work has been undertaken either "so as not to compromise the destinations." & quot;But between now and the end of the year, things will evolve, we should prepare a development plan. The next two years will be decisive. We push the projects together with the subcontractors, we have regular contacts, we are in the starting blocks".
