Le milieu de l’équipe de France Adrien Rabiot et le défenseur William Saliba étaient en conférence de presse, ce mercredi 19 juin. L’occasion pour eux de donner des premières nouvelles de Kylian Mbappé, blessé au nez lundi.

Kylian Mbappé's injury is on everyone's lips. In France but also in Germany. Adrien Rabiot and William Saliba did not escape questions this Wednesday about their captain's injury during a press conference in Paderborn.

"I met him this morning. He was a little better. He had gone to do other tests. But I don’t know any more. The good news is that he was better", first reassured the defender, a native of Bondy like "Kyky".

Tuesday evening, the FFF clarified that the captain "remains uncertain" and that’a < em>"new point will be made tomorrow" (this Wednesday).

"A hard blow" but "total confidence in this group"

While waiting for a new official communication, Adrien Rabiot was invited to plan for a possible absence of the striker. "It’is a hard blow", estimated the midfielder of the Blues and Juventus Turin, while recalling the’ uncertainty surrounding Mbappé. "But he is very important, he is our captain, a leader. It will also weigh on the adversaries' way of preparing", he continued.

The Turiniois is, on the other hand, convinced, the Blues have the means to move forward without him. "We have an exceptional group, we are not going to hide. But given the players on the bench, we have ample means to replace Kylian, affirms Rabiot. We have to count on the group, total confidence."

Rabiot and the example Szczesny

Rabiot is also well placed to judge Mbappé's injury. At Juve, his goalkeeper, the Pole Wojciech Szczesny, had a similar misfortune last April, with a broken nose.

"He had surgery the next day or two days later. And he was available for the next match (five days after the fracture, Editor's note). Did they take risks? That’s another question. But that's why for me it wasn't so serious for Kylian", Monday.
