Soutenu par le RCT, l’arrière Melvyn Jaminet a entamé sa phase de réintégration.
International full-back Melvyn Jaminet (20 caps), still suspended for racist remarks made in a video in July, has returned to the Rugby Club Toulonnais training center, the club announced on Thursday.
“As part of Melvyn Jaminet's reintegration plan, he returned to the RCT Campus on Tuesday, September 17”, the club said in a press release. Suspended for 34 weeks by the French Rugby Federation following a racist video posted on his social networks last July, the 25-year-old player has started specific physical training away from the professional group.
several societal actions
“During the coming weeks, Melvyn Jaminet will be required to carry out several societal actions which are part of the rehabilitation plan that the RCT and the FFR have proposed to him and to which he has fully subscribed”, explains the club. Jaminet's sanction can be reduced by eight weeks by carrying out “community interest activities” over the same period, the club and the FFR specified when announcing his sanction.
We have a plan, a vision with things he wants to do before coming back to train here
RC Toulon added “stay attentive to the evolution of the situation and do everything possible to support Melvyn in this crucial phase of his career”. “How is the man ? Melvyn is doing well, he is getting better. The man is repairing himself. We are here to support him, we have a plan, a vision with things he wants to do before coming back to train here”, RCT manager Pierre Mignoni had declared at a press conference in early September.
The Var striker met his teammates and the Toulon staff this Tuesday to express himself and discuss with them, and should return to the field at the beginning of 2025.
