Mercy Botino (Miss France 2020) victim of racism, an association complaint
While Leniency Botino is the victim of racist insults since her election as Miss France 2020, several Miss and old Miss are mounted to the niche, which Vaimalama Chaves, Lou Ruat (Miss Provence) or Corinne Coman (Miss Guadeloupe 2002 and Miss France 2003). It is now the turn of the representative Council of black associations (CRAN) of insurgence and file a complaint.
Since her election as Miss France 2020 last December 14, Leniency Botino (Miss Guadeloupe) receives many criticisms. While the public and the jury members would have preferred to see Lou Ruat (Miss Provence) or Florentine Somers (Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais) to wear the sash and crown, some have not hesitated to tackle the physics of the successor of Vaimalama Chaves, and more particularly to his skin color. Some have even compared it to

The racist insults that do not go with the representative Council of black associations (CRAN), who has decided to respond to this
“unprecedented violence” and announced having filed a “complaint for racist remarks” with the parquet de Paris. The NOTCH also denounced the tweets as racist who have referred Evelyne de Larichaudy, a native of the island of the Meeting, on the night when she became Miss Ile-de-France. The NOTCH denounces remarks “totally unacceptable” “It is important that these words are sanctioned, they are totally unacceptable”, affirmed with the AFP the president of the association anti-racist, Ghyslain Vedeux. “There has been no reaction from the authorities, nor the government, nor even by Marlène Schiappa, who is usually the first to step up”. Only Vaimalama Chaves, Lou Ruat, first runner-up, or even Corinne Coman (Miss Guadeloupe 2002 and Miss France 2003) had taken the defence of the new Miss France. This last reminded that this was unfortunately not a new phenomenon…
