Present in Scotland to appear in court on Wednesday 11 September, the Scot and MHR player Stuart Hogg was arrested again by the police on Tuesday 10 September for having broken the conditions of his bail as well as new acts of harassment towards his ex-wife.
Only a few days after his first match with Montpellier against Lyon, during which he scored a try despite the defeat (22-26), the Scot Stuart Hoggcontinues to hit the headlines.
Even though he was due to appear in court on Wednesday in his country for domestic violence, the former full-back with 85 caps for the XV du Chardon was arrested again by the police according to several British media outlets, including BBC Scotland.
Coming out of retirement to sign for MHR
“A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with harassment and breaching bail conditions”, Scottish police have announced, as reported by our colleagues.
On Wednesday, Hogg was due to appear in court to answer accusations of harassing his ex-wife, with whom he acted aggressively, and of monitoring her communications for many months.
A father of four, the Scotsman retired in the summer of 2023 just before the World Cup, before signing a two-year contract with Montpellier in the summer of 2024.
“I understand the criticism. But I say is it final when you have made a mistake ? Can you be punished for life ? I believe in redemption. Fortunately it exists otherwise it would be terrible”, defended Bernard Laporte, the MHR rugby director.
