Michel Désautels bows out

Veteran journalist and Radio-Canada host Michel Désautels will retire in June, ending a career spanning just over half a century, he announced to his listeners on Sunday.
“Leaving the House that has been mine for 50 years gives me a good shot of the blues. But this feeling quickly fades when I think of the chance I had to practice a formidable profession, with colleagues who sincerely believe in the relevance of public service, ”he said in a press release. /p>
Joined Radio-Canada in Toronto in 1972, Michel Désautels gradually migrated to television and radio broadcasts in Montreal. On the radio side, his voice resonated with Montreal listeners for more than four decades, including for the return home program at 95.1 FM between 2003 and 2012, followed by “Désautels le dimanche” which he has been hosting for 10 years on the Première chaine.
“Michel Désautels is literally a radio giant.
