Michigan: a teenager kidnapped by her biological mother?
|UPDATE DAY
A Michigan teenager, believed to have been abducted by her birth mother more than a year ago after running away from her foster home, has been found hiding in a closet.
The 14-year-old girl was found by U.S. Marshals on Tuesday at a home in Port Huron, a town 100 miles northeast of Detroit, the city reported. GlobalNews. She had been missing since September 2021.
Clues led the police to the residence in question. The owners of the premises refused to cooperate, but officers eventually obtained a search warrant. When authorities found the teenager in the wardrobe, the owners were said to be surprised. They could possibly be charged.
When child protective services brought the teenager to the hospital, they discovered that she was pregnant. “She cried. She didn't know where she was going. She was pretty terrified and she was afraid of losing her baby,” deputy police chief Marshal Robert Watson told the Detroit Free Press.
The investigation of the authorities allowed to accuse the biological mother of the young girl of abduction in this case. Clues suggest that the mother would have found her daughter, who had run away from her foster family, before regularly moving her to different houses in the neighborhood.
